What's New?

Well a few things have happened since my last post about Our New Assignment.  We discovered I was pregnant towards the end of January and then I started spotting, went on complete bedrest but then lost the baby on February 10 at 9 weeks.

A month later I was still having pain in my lower abdomen and lower back when sitting upright or standing for long periods.  The doctor sent me to get a scan and the scan revealed that I had a small fibroid on my uterus and a small cyst on my ovary.  Since it was small she requested that I keep away from processed foods and return in one year to get another scan.  No problem on the processed foods really, I just have to be more vigilant when I'm away from home.

I've been doing a lot of research and have found many helpful articles and videos regarding fibroids including Eliminate the Symptoms of Fibroids Naturally by Evelyn which includes links to other helpful articles.  A local Christian herbalist has been helpful in recommending certain herbs to take and my online research has been helping as well.  I'm believing God for natural healing and I covet your prayers there as well.  I know that God heals through the surgical process sometimes but my desire is not to go that route.  However since my life is in His hands it's up to Him which route His healing will take.

Ministry wise the church has been doing well.  We are thankful to be involved in the work of the Lord.  I've posted on the church Facebook page some pictures of events we've had like our church dinner and will be posting more often hopefully.  Go to the facebook page and check it out.

On the homefront, I've been doing a major decluttering.  The Lord has been giving me the strength at different times to purge in a major way.  I've been blessed to be able to give to others the things that are in good condition.  It's been a freeing process and I love the results.  I came across the video below today and followed up with a visit to her blog called Zero Waste Home and it further inspired me to continue the decluttering process.

The homeschooling bit of our lives is going well.  The boys are doing better at staying focused.  We're learning Hebrew as a family and I'm looking into art videos and lessons online for the 7yr old who loves to draw and considers himself an artist.  They really enjoy going to the playing field (well, more the 8yr old) on Thursdays to play football with the other boys and girls in the village. Their coach is nice.  They definitely look forward to Awana Bible Club on Friday afternoons as well.  The 8yr old is advanced and has had to repeat his current workbook because he is too young to be promoted to the next level at his age.  The Awana director said that most likely he will be promoted to the next level later in the year.  I love their excitement and eagerness to learn about everything.  They enjoy doing the Mavis Beacon typing and Jumpstart on the computer.  The computer time is a reward for when they finish their A.C.E pace work before lunch.

Okay so I could go on and on but that's enough for now.  You've got a glimpse into what's new in my life.  Oh yes, we had a lovely visit by my brother in law, his lovely wife and their gorgeous 9month old baby girl.  I might post some of the pics of our outing to Screw's Spa another time.

  2. Yeah! Welcome back to the blogosphere! We missed you around here. I'm glad to see that things are slowly getting back to normal again. It seems like you have so many interesting and exciting things going on right now.

It must have been wonderful that your brother in law with family came to visit. I would love to see some pictures. I've been looking at your church pictures, you were tagged in facebook so I went to see them. It looks like a wonderful church with great people.

Speaking of decluttering. I have spent the last couple of weeks sorting out toys, clothes, knick knacks, kitchen stuff etc that we are donating to charity. We have too many things and it helps to see that others are doing the same thing. I think I have closer to 10 huge boxes that need to go and I am not even done yet..

    Good to see you back..

    Hugs

  4. I am so sorry about your loss! Hope you're feeling better. I lost a little girl half way through the pregnancy and the nurse at the hospital set my husband down and gave him a stern list of things to watch for - depression things - as we got closer to the due date.

Learning Hebrew - Wow! You are amazing! I miss those times when I homeschooled my boys. We did a bit of Latin. You are indeed living an exciting, amazing life right now! Hope your weekend is full of blessing and joy!
