6 Simple Ways to Manage and Reduce Stress

If you don't find a way to manage stress, it will find a way to manage you. Invasive is the nature of stress and it will take over your life if you are not careful. Stress causes you to feel defeated sometimes even before you attempt anything.

The blame does not lie with your boss, spouse, children, traffic or anything else. Those are things that are out of your control. People will say and do things and you can’t control what they say or do but you do have control over yourself, your response and several other things. Manage the things you can manage and leave the rest alone. When you take the steps to handle what you can the result is that you reduce your stress.

There are several ways to handle, manage and reduce stress. We've discussed 6 ways already. To recap here they are.  Click through each link to view more detail on each method listed.

  1. Hi Jennifer!

Short and to the point! :)

I enjoy gardening. When I had a garden, I enjoyed the quietness and just listening to nature. Very peaceful!

We must learn to not allow other people's reactions to dictate how we react. Sometimes this is easier said than done. Choosing to react or not to react is something I try to practice, but sometimes I'm not always successful.

    Thanks for sharing!

  2. Hey Evelyn!

I'm not much into gardening. I putter here and there with a few pots but that's the extent of it. I do love nature though and enjoy being in the mountains and being quiet. Whenever we go into the country areas as a family my husband walks ahead with the boys and lets me "zone out" as I call it. It is really peaceful and a wonderful reflective time.

    Good to see you!

  3. Yes, 6 awesome tips. Breathe control is at the center of them all. When we get stressed our breathing becomes short , which reduces our oxygen intake. We should always breathe deeply and smoothly, which reduces tension and stress. Also all of the above accomplishes this, but when do become stressed outside of the above conditions, if we remember to force ourselves take combat the short breathes with long deep breathes, we will reduce our stress.

  4. Thanks Aqiyl. You are right breathing is very important as a stress reliever as well. I actually wrote a post on it last year. Hmmm. I think I'll add it to the list as a bonus tip. Thanks.
