Personal thoughts

Just thought I'd share today's entry in my online personal journal. I pray it is a blessing to you today.
Alone time with God: 403am-507am

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise God. Alleluia. Glory to you Father. Thank you for refreshing the island's soil with the abundance of rain. Thank you Lord. Alleluia!

It's been raining off and on from yesterday. Early this morning it's been steadily raining and heavily with thunder and a lot of lightning. Have you way Lord. In the weather have your way. In the island have your way. In our lives have your way. In Jesus name. AMEN

Bible Reading: Job 1-2
Job 2:10 - But he said to her,"You speak as one of the foolish women speak..."

While reading that verse it occurred to me to pay close attention to how Job addressed his wife. He doesn't say to her "You're a foolish woman", he did not address her as "Foolish woman". He said "You speak as one of the foolish women speaks". To me from rereading that verse it's obvious that Job did not consider his wife a foolish woman. It says to me that she in the time of suffering went through a weakening of her faith as she suffered along with her husband. It was not only Job who suffered. She lost all her children, she lost their abundant livestock which brought her a comfortable life, she lost servants that assisted them. She also suffered great loss. She was not afflicted in body like her husband because these events were not about her but she also experienced loss. In the face of such tragedies her faith weakened especially when she saw the affliction of her husband's body. We can stay on the outside looking in and cast aspersions and say she was foolish but look at how the one who knows her best and most intimately addresses her. He does not call her foolish but draws attention to the way she is speaking, that momentary weakening of her faith.

Lord I pray that we as wives would be careful not to speak as foolish women speak but guard our lips always and be an encouragement to our husbands in the best of times but most especially in the worst of times when our faith may be weak. Help us Lord In Jesus name I pray with thanksgiving AMEN.
