Spotlight on Health - Kristen's Raw

No comments:
Every week Our Fruitful Vine brings to you a healthy living blog/site to help you on your journey to optimal health. Today the spotlight shines on Kristen Suzanne of Kristen's Raw.

Read her bio taken from her site -
Kristen Suzanne was a competitive natural bodybuilder in her early 20's and has been 100% vegan since 2002. At that time, she was approximately 50% Raw, with her cooked foods comprising mostly tofu, vegetables, and pasta. In 2005, Kristen migrated to being 75% Raw. Since 2006, she has been 95% Raw. In Raw Foodism parlance, this equates to somebody eating almost only Raw meals AND/OR attempting to always eat Raw meals that may contain very small amounts of an ingredient that isn't Raw (spices are a common example, as it's not always easy to ascertain how a spice was dried or prepared).

According to her about page,
Kristen's Raw was launched in January of 2007 to provide information, products, services, advice, and recommendations that make it easy for anybody to adopt the raw, vegan lifestyle.

There are many useful pages for those who are considering moving toward eating a higher degree of raw foods. Start with the How To Get Started section then you can move on to the Raw Foods FAQ.  From there you can browse around and get more questions answered.

Kristen has a whole line of recipe books to help in getting anyone started or for someone already eating high raw looking for ideas and recipes.  For those getting started she has the Easy Raw Vegan Transition Recipes.

Or The EASY Way to Get Started & SUCCEED with Raw Food

Then there's the EASY Raw Vegan Entrees

and EASY Raw Vegan Soups and much more.

She also has a special discount of over 40% on the package of 11 e-books.  Awesome!  When you visit her site and click on the recipes link you will see pictures of some of the recipes and more details on the books.  Her blog also features her food journal, reviews and other bits of information.  So get going and discover more for yourself at Kristen's Raw.

Next week another blogger with a healthy living site/blog. Take care.

Spotlight on Health - All You Need To Know To Get Started In Aromatherapy

1 comment:
Every week Our Fruitful Vine brings to you a healthy living blog/site to help you on your journey to optimal health. Today the spotlight shines on Johanna of All You Need To Know To Get Started In Aromatherapy.

Essential oils are an important part of living a healthy life.  They can replace many of the chemicals that are used around the home for so many things, from cleaning to treating different ailments, to helping achieve relaxation to pet care to caring for children.  I personally have stopped using the disinfectants sold in the stores and use essential oils for my cleaning and sometimes when I do laundry.  I use it as well instead of toothpaste.

Using essential oils can sometimes be confusing and if you don't know where to start but would like to, today's featured site will help you. She has a section called administration where you can find everything about how to use essential oils. You will find answers to questions like how to apply the oil topically, inhalation, how to diffuse the oil correctly, cooking with essential oils and more.

On the site you will find detailed information on single oils, their history, aroma, therapeutic uses etc. There is also a section called safety where she shares how to use essential oils safely.  If you need to know about specific conditions, check out the section called conditions where she shares information on how to use the oils for specific conditions.

Last but by no means least I want to highlight a section called oil of the month where she picks a specific oil and one follower of the blog gets to win a bottle of the oil of the month. YAY!!!

This site is a goldmine of information for anyone seeking knowledge on the use of essential oils.  What now?  Your next step is to visit  All You Need To Know To Get Started In Aromatherapy and get started using essential oils for greater health and healing.  All you need to know is right there and you can purchase the oils from her as well.

Next week another blogger with a healthy living site/blog. Take care.

Spotlight on Health - Food Facts

No comments:
Every week Our Fruitful Vine brings to you a healthy living blog/site to help you on your journey to optimal health.  Today the spotlight shines on Foodfacts.com.

As written on their site, their mission is three-fold:

  1. To make it easy to identify and use the ingredients you want, in the foods you want.
  2. Eliminate all of the confusion - get the facts, be informed, and take action.
  3. Educate about healthy eating - create healthy food recipes and meal plans - learn, track, compare and share information.

I have subscribed to their blog and share the links of many of their blog articles on twitter and the Fruitful Vine Facebook page.  Here are some examples of the type of information you can find on the foodfacts.com blog.

If you're interested in losing great but not feeling terrible check out Losing Weight And Feeling Great With Slow Carbs. I am not by any stretch of the imagination overweight as those who have seen me and know me in person can attest to but somehow my stomach is bigger than I want it to be. At this point my father would say "What stomach?"  He always seemed to think it's just my imagination. Regardless of what my father thinks, if you're like me and want a flatter stomach read Nutrition Secrets For a Flat, Fat-Free Stomach.

Did you know that the fruit of the coffee plant is nutritious? Those are just a few of the articles you can find on the foodfacts.com blog. Lower your sress with Stress Lowering Foods and enjoy all the other articles.

To your optimal health,

Spotlight On Health - Suncooked Cuisine

4 comments:
Every week Our Fruitful Vine brings to you a healthy living blog/site to help you on your journey to optimal health.  Today the spotlight shines on Chantel Selman of Suncooked Cuisine formerly known as Natural Livin' On De Island of Barbados. Chantel is a living foods/raw chef, an iridologist and traditional healer in Barbados. She has experience in reflexology, live food nutrition, herbal medicine and more.  She owns a health store and live food bar called Organic Earth. If you're ever in Barbados look her up and taste her living cuisine.

Chantel was here in Dominica last year presenting raw food recipes and techniques at Terri Henry's Health Expo. I missed seeing her presentation because it coincided with a ministry event were attending on the ship Logos Hope. Que lastima! (so sad). Anyway, to continue, Chantel shares links and videos to healthy living articles as well as some of her recipes on her blog.

Youtube is where you can quickly access her videos.  Take a look at one of the delicious live pizza recipes she's shared:

She also has this Wild Fermented Ginger Beer recipe on her site.

You can find more of Chantel Selman's recipe videos on Youtube.  Next week another blogger with a healthy living site/blog. Take care.

2 comments:
Every week Our Fruitful Vine brings to you a healthy living site/blog to help you on your journey to optimal health.  Today's featured site is about the children in our lives.  We are striving for optimal health and we want no less for our children.  So without any further ado, the big bright dazzling spotlight shines on Katy Farber of Non-Toxic Kids.

According their byline Non-Toxic Kids helps your kids stay safe, healthy and smart.  On her site you will find quite a bit of information on keeping your children healthy.  There is an entire section on Food Allergies dealing with peanut allergies, eczema, diaper creams etc.

I wish I could share all the information that's there but you'll have to go see for yourself.  I found the section on Genetically Modified Food to be interesting as well as mercury in food and the whole section on nut free foods.  Her recipe section has this delicious looking Pumpkin Bread and other recipes as well.

Pumpkin Bread
There is a vegetarian section and her experiences with whole foods.  Like I said so much to share.  Go check it out for yourself.

Spotlight On Health - Hallelujah Acres

4 comments:
Every Monday Our Fruitful Vine brings to you a healthy living site/blog to help you on the journey to optimal health.  Today the big, bright, dazzling spotlight shines on Hallelujah Acres.

The Hallelujah Acres latest slogan is "We Juice Up Your Life" and from the countless testimonies that can be found on the testimonies section it is definitely true that a lot of lives have been juiced up by them.

Let me give a little background on Hallelujah Acres as I learned it.  It was started by Rev. George Malkmus who at the time was a pastor.  He developed colon cancer and through divine providence found the way to healing through a mainly raw food diet.  That was 30 plus years ago.  He has been teaching a 85% raw and 15% cooked way of eating for optimal health.  Find out more of his story and how Hallelujah Acres began in the history section of the site.

So what exactly does Hallelujah Acres teach is the optimal way to eat for greater health and healing?  Check out the section on the Hallelujah Diet for all the information and reasoning behind it all.  I am really excited to share Hallelujah Acres with you because I know that you will find lots of resources to help you on the journey to optimal health.  That's what I've found and I'm sharing with you.

Hallelujah Acres has many resources to help in our journey to optimal health.  There are recipes, videos, courses and seminars, one of them being the Women's Retreat coming next October.

I've been so impressed with Hallelujah Acres that my dream is to be one of their certified Health Ministers.  I've already received part of the home study section of the training and I'm believing God for the finances to fly to the US to complete the rest of the certification.

Hallelujah Acres also has newsletters that you can sign up for and Rev. George Malkmus has a blog where he shares health tips regularly.

So click on the links mentioned in this post and discover a world of healthy information through Hallelujah Acres.  They can also be found on Twitter and Facebook.
