Wonderfully tiring! That's my life sometimes. I really need to buckle down and get some rest. I've been having four hours of sleep for the past many days with the exception of last night. I deliberately stayed home from service because I was not wanting to abuse my body any further. I got a good night's sleep Praise God!
Friday was a full day starting very early with my usual 4am wake up. Time alone with God has become so essential to me that most times I sacrifice my sleep no matter how late a night I've had. The early mornings are just about the only times I get to be undistracted and am able to focus on listening to what He has to say to me. I hear Him throughout the day as well but the early morning sets the tone for my day. Then I went out on my exercise walk and added jogging to the mix. When I got home I swept the whole house which takes about 30-40 minutes. I got ready for a shopping trip to town. When we got there it did not go as planned so I ended up shopping on my feet instead of with my husband and vehicle. Boy I was really tired and hungry and almost ready to drop.I did not go to the prayer meeting but got there after the ending time. When I got there my hubby was involved in a deliverance with a young lady so I just just jumped right into warfare to assist my hubby. So you know that by the time we were done with her I was way past exhaustion. We ran a few more errands and then started to journey home. Sometime in the morning our Senior Pastor's wife called and said that she wants to do VBS(Vacation Bible School) and wants me at the meeting with the others at 5pm. So when we came to St. Joseph my feet did not even touch my home, my hubby dropped me straight to the church building. He wonderfully sent me via the pastor's wife and daughter a bottle of water and lunch which my wonderful teenaged sister(more about her in another post) cooked. They graciously allowed me to eat before the meeting started and I broke one of our rules on eating - I drank the water just before, during and right after I ate. We had a wonderful meeting with me ending up as Skit Director, assistant teacher to the older children and Assistant Director. After the meeting I went home and spent some time with the boys since I had been out all day, spent some time with hubby and then my sister came home from youth meeting. We spent some time with her as well and by that time it was after midnight.
Saturday morning started early as well but not at 4am at about 5am. After doing some things, we prepared for a family outing with my hubby's brother Junior and his wife and sister in law, hubby's sister Donna and her family minus her hubby and our family plus my sister. We went to the Canefield river and had a cookout. We cooked a big pot of food over stones by the riverside. I was really disappointed that I couldn't take any pictures to share with you all. After leaving the riverside we went home and picked up the stuff for baking and went straight to Salisbury to do our Saturday baking. The night ended at just after 11pm. When we came home, my hubby, my sister and myself got to work tidying up, unpacking groceries from Friday, washing the piled up dishes etc. I got to bed about 1:30am.
Sunday morning I had to get up early to cook lunch to pack because my hubby was scheduled to preach at another church in a village quite aways from where we live. Needless to say another short night of sleep. We picked up my hubby's dad and mom who made up the rest of the team going there to minister that Sunday and then started out. I deliberately closed my eyes on the way there and fell asleep. I had planned to minister(wink) to my hubby when we got home later that day so I determined to get pockets of sleep where I could. The service was wonderful. The church is a small church renting downstairs someone's home to have church meetings.
There was none of the usual instruments and sound systems that are present in our home church just voices, timbrels and hand clapping. After my hubby preached the whole church came up for prayer and one young man came up afterward for deliverance. It was awesome to see the Lord work out His deliverance in this young man's life in such a quiet way, quite a difference from the young lady receiving deliverance on Friday afternoon. That just goes to show that God moves in ways that he sees fit not according to our preconceived ideas. After the service a few of the church members took us to where the proposed site for the church building is.
Apparently a church member donated the land to the church and they started construction but it's been on a halt for some time now.
They asked my hubby to pray about the situation and we all joined hands and agreed together over the issue.

This area is really cold. My hubby and my sister enjoyed the cold weather. Sorry no pictures of the lake. When we left we took my sister to see her family. Her mom and our little sister came back from their visit to England on Friday. She had a blast getting all the stuff they brought for her and seeing everything they brought home. Then we went home. I did not go to service that night because I was just too tired. I couldn't put my body through any more abuse. I had a good night's rest Praise God.
Monday is my hubby's day of rest and I also decided to rest so there's no homeschool today for the boys(my sister had her school session with my hubby who's helping her get on track for when she starts back school in September - she attends The Convent High School my old high school.). I spent practically the whole morning on the computer just reading stuff on homemaking. It was refreshing to say the least because for the past few weeks my time on the computer has been limited and the computer sometimes freezes or moves so slow that I don't get much done. So that's the update on what happened over the weekend. Bye for now.
Update: I did homeschool in the afternoon. It was different because I don't remember ever doing it in the afternoon.

It's been a while since I've popped by your blog, so I've got LOTS of catching up to do! :)
ReplyDeleteYou've got such a beautiful family!!!
Hi, Jenn!
ReplyDeleteI haven't stopped by in a while either! It's good to see photos of your beautiful family...and photos of you, too!!! I know I don't put pics of myself on my blog very often. ;^)
Anyway, sounds like you are staying busy. I agree with preserving your prayer time at all costs -- even at the cost of a couple of hours less sleep. I have a missionary friend who says, "We'll sleep when we die!!!"
We have only a few more days of furlough (yes, you spelled it right!) and then we'll head home. God has proven Himself faithful over and above what we could imagine. Again. Why am I surprised? Anyway, I'll post more about God's faithfulness on my blog soon.
So good to hear from you! Have a blest day, my friend!
Hi Jenn....thanks for stopping by my "recycling" blog....I'm glad you enjoyed seeing the cottage bedroom. It sounds as if you had a wonderful day....how nice for you. :)
ReplyDeleteDebbie
That sounds like a full day! I love the pictures that you add to your blog. They are always so beautiful and make me want to visit so badly!

Hi Jenn!!! I'm finally able to eek out a little time for a short visit. :)
ReplyDeleteWe've been doing creation Bible camp all week (a day camp). Our granddaughter stayed with us so she could attend and Brooke was a camp counselor (C.I.T.) Camp was the best ever this year, and yes, I was exhausted by the end of the week. So were Gracie and Brooke! :)
Your post, Wonderfully Tiring, wears me out just reading about it all. You do more in a weekend than most do in a week. :) I am 'always' amazed at how much you accomplish. You are so focused! Good for you!!! :)
Loved your family pictures. Pictures of your darling boys always make me smile. :)
Blessings!!!
