No sooner than I posted about the computer being fixed and posted a generous wife tip, the computer malfunctioned again. So I was stuck again without a computer or internet access for a few days. Then my wonderful husband found a fantastic deal on a laptop from my sister's brother Earl. He called me and told me about it and I cracked jokes saying that my birthday is coming up hint, hint not really meaning anything by it. Well, on the way to our home on Saturday after we came from dropping his sister Rosette off at the airport and dropping my sister Hannah home, he told me that Earl sold the laptop. I was a little disappointed but not much because I had not really set my hopes on getting my dream of a laptop just yet. I anticipated more into the future that I would be blessed by God with one. When getting ready for bed I happened to shift my pillow aside and saw this 8 1/2x11 paper ontop of something under my pillow. The paper read "My honey. Happy Birthday Anniversary(he says they're not birthdays they are anniversaries of your birthday) in advance. Yours 4 life." and it was signed by my hubby. Underneath the paper sat Earl's laptop. I was astounded(understatement). I couldn't believe it. I cried, I covered my face, I gasped, I laughed, I uncovered and covered my face over and over saying I couldn't believe it, I hugged him, I kissed him, I thanked him. I was overcome with emotion. It was a wonderful, tremendous, fantastic surprise. Thank you Lord! Alleluia! Hence the title of this post 'computer challenge overcome'. The only thing is that the digital camera I take pictures with uses floppy disks and this laptop does not accomodate that so until I get a new digital camera which has also been on my dream list I might not be able to post pictures. I'll try to see how I can get around that because pictures give a wonderful idea much better than words of what's going on. In the meantime I am rejoicing because I got a laptop! I got a laptop yeah!(dancing around in my mind) I got a laptop yeah! Alleluia! Thank you Jesus! I got a laptop yeah! I'm off for my exercise walk. See you later ladies with the generous wife tip of the day. Love y'all.

Hi Jen,
ReplyDeleteMost digital cameras have a cable that allow you to transfer directly to the laptop or computer (without having to load a floppy or photo card). It usually just connects to your laptops usb port.
Just a thought.
Sandy
Hi Sandy
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip but this camera is one of the old old school ones and did not come with a cable when we got it several years ago. That's why my new wish is one of those new ones with the cable. Blessings.
Jenn
How thoughtful of your husband! A laptop is on my 'someday' list.
