Wifey Wednesday - Family Time
Sheila at To Love Honor and Vacuum is discussing family time on her Wifey Wednesday post. She asked the question - How do we get our family together. Here is my answer:
Basically for the most part we eat meals together. When hubby is home he eats with us when he is not the boys and I sometimes eat together. Usually in the morning we do family devotions as well around the table. I've found that the boys take the opportunity to ask a lot of questions at that time. There is something about eating together that causes everyone to relax. Hubby and I also play Parcheesi during and after most meals we eat together and we let the boys join us sometimes.
Sometimes, as was the case a few weeks ago, my hubby said "Let's go to the beach". My first thoughts were but we have to do school but the words out of my mouth was "Sure!" So we went to the beach and had a great time.
We spend a lot of time together probably more than the average family. I've not had a challenge with my hubby not helping with the kids or around the home. He does a pretty good job especially when I'm not feeling well and most times he does it without me having to ask or hint about needing his help.
I am aware that many families are not like that and wish they could be. Well if that is your challenge, Sheila's Wifey Wednesday post today addresses that very issue. Go on over to Sheila's blog - To Love, Honor and Vacuum and get some ideas on how to bring your family together.

You have a beautiful family! I always draw inspiration and words of wisdom visiting from your blog. One day when I happen to Dominica (that's where you are right?) I'm coming to visit you! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful that your family is able to eat together so often. We try to eat together when my hubby is home, but other times it's hit or miss.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ana
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome anytime. I would love for you to visit me!

It's good that you at least try - that is better than doing nothing. The kids will remember those times and it will be precious memories for them.
