Tips for Wives - Gift Help

Men are not mind readers so this tip would help keep the disappointment at bay to a certain extent during this time of gift giving and receiving.

If you haven't already, I encourage you to give your husband some idea of what you would like for Christmas (guys typically lose their minds over picking out gifts and it's only kind to help them out, be clear and specific so your husband doesn't feel that he has to read your mind or make a shot in the dark). Then whatever he gives you, love it. Your husband put thought, time, effort and/or money into your gifts. To accept his gifts is to accept him. Love the gifts because he gave them to you as an expression of his love and appreciation.

If it turns out you receive a particularly "unique" gift from him, just hug him and thank him and try to be a bit more specific the next time he needs gift ideas. Gift giving is an art to be learned and husbands are learning just like we are.

God has given us two hands, one to receive with and the other to give with.
