Back in the day just about everyone had a garden plot outside their home. Some had their plots in the front and some in the back, others on the side. It was not a matter of if to have one, just where. So wherever they had the space for it they had it. They knew something that so many today are missing. They knew that herbs heal.
Today there is a doctor just about everywhere you turn. Back then it was not so. The doctors served rather large areas and had to travel for days to get to the villages or towns they served. Some areas would not see the doctor for months on end. As time passed some areas had their own doctor so a doctor’s care became more accessible. But even then they still relied on the wonders of the herbs in nature.
God knew best and he put the herbs there with all their healing properties for us to use for our benefit. Sadly many today run quickly to the pharmacy at the slight sign of anything. You may argue, “Well I live in an apartment in the city and I don’t have space to have a garden plot”. Well some herbs can be grown in flower pots and just about any herb can be found at a health food store.
You might be wondering, "Ok what is the point of this? Aren't you supposed to be telling me how to lower my stress level?" Well, yes of course. The point is this – there are herbs for stress relief . Now don’t think of this as a magic pill, you still have to use the first two tips for reducing stress I shared before. No amount of herbs can help you if you keep on piling on the stress day after day.
With that said, God in all His wisdom gave us these wonderful herbs that relieve stress:
- Passion flower
- St. John's Wort
- Ginkgo Biloba
