While looking at a three minute video on petit elefant where the guest mom was preparing a pretty simple recipe with her two young daughters I saw a post titled what we've been eating. This prompted me to stop procrastinating and put up a series of posts I've been meaning to share about what our meals and snacks look like since we've changed our eating habits. Here's the first installment. Each meal is separated with stars. Our breakfasts:
Lettuce, tomato, scrambled local eggs and bakes(johnny cakes) shaped like people which hubby made for supper the night before:
Lettuce, flaxmeal cornbread, tomato & egg salad:
Oatmeal with raisins and bananas:
Lettuce, homemade whole grain bread, tuna and banana slices:
Lettuce, shredded carrot, local egg omelet, homemade whole grain bread and banana:
Lettuce, sardine salad(sardines tossed with watercress, onions, garlic, celery, parsley and sea salt) and home made whole grain bread:
Mango-papaya salad, whole wheat crackers and breakfast smoothie:
Mango slices, lettuce, local egg omelet, leftover beet & carrot salad and sliced bananas:
Mixed salad with lettuce, green pepper, cucumber, tomato, celery, parsley tossed with olive oil & sea salt, herbed scrambled eggs(herbs were parsley, celery and thyme):
Cornmeal porridge topped with bananas and raisins:
Tomato-cucumber salad, scrambled local eggs and soy chunks:
Local egg omelet(local eggs are eggs that have not been fed with the commercial chicken feed, they've been fed bread, coconuts and the like, no hormones and other artifical stuff there), lettuce, tomatoes, homemade whole grain bread and bananas.
Banana smoothie, homemade whole grain bread, guava sections
Flaxmeal-raisin-cornbread, lettuce, tomatoes and tuna:
Homemade, whole grain bread, scrambled local eggs, lettuce & tomato salad sprinkled with sesame seeds:
Cornmeal porridge sweetened with banana puree topped with banana slices:
Cornmeal porridge, one topped with raisins and banana slices, the other topped only with raisins as per my 5yr old's request:
Diced papaya, sliced bananas and fried local egg:
Well that's all folks. Hope you enjoyed a glimpse into what goes into us at breakfast time. Share your own healthy breakfast ideas with me and other readers in the comments. I would love to know what you're eating.
