My husband recently said to me, "Thank you for being considerate." At first I was a bit puzzled, but after some thought realized that I had made a difficult day easier for him. I had taken some responsibility off of him, had just generally been helpful when he was tired, and had not been tiffy about some things being left undone.
What I am trying to point out is, that being aware of your husband and being understanding and helpful is a good thing. And really it doesn't have to take too much extra effort. A smile, a small shoulder rub, overlooking the occasional sock on the floor, opening the door for him when he's taking out the trash ... just little gestures and kinder attitudes that let him know that you love him and want to bless him.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice. Author Unknown
