Sunday was a really exciting day. My hubby is teaching Sunday School for the month of June.
The Ladies Ministry of our church celebrated its 4th anniversary. On Sunday morning our co-ordinator the Senior Pastor's wife Sis Dalrymple gave a history of the group,
Sis Curlyn(youth leader/worship team member/youth pastor's sister) gave an overview of the activities to come and introduced us as we came to sing.
We were dressed in red tops and black skirts.
Sis Nibbs was called on by Pastor Aaron to close in prayer:
It's also Preschool Month on the island and they start off with the children being asked to attend their various church services dressed in their uniforms. Pastor Aaron called the preschoolers forward for prayer as well as the principal of the Grace First Baptist Preschool in the village and asked my hubby to pray for them. I sent my boys up as you can see because they are preschoolers even though they are being homeschooled.
As you can also see in the picture the two pastors are dressed alike in their burgundy shirts to match the ladies.
After the service:
On Sunday evening we had a blast with our talent night. We had such a display of talents as was never seen before. This is a picture of the worship team that night(Sis Gilda, Sis Dalrymple and Sis Julietta)
Sis Curlyn was the Mistress of Ceremonies:
Sis Gilda(mother of the youth pastor and Sis Curlyn) sang a song.
I did a dramatic reading of the Proverbs 31 woman in half Creole/patois and half English. It was really funny. We all cracked up on that one.
Sis Julietta sang a song and surprised us all with a rap in between.
My brother in law Junior's wife Francisca did a choreographed dance to a worship song. It was amazing. People were really surprised that she could spin like she did.
We had two unplanned additions to our program of my hubby's aunt from the Grace First Baptist Church down the road singing a song
and Bro Kerwin, the youth pastor/worship director did a song as well:
Sis Dalrymple(Senior Pastor's wife) and her daughter Adella sang a duet.
Sis Lovette did her debut in singing which went quite well. Three young ladies - Sis Curlyn, Sis Shernelle and Sis Clarine did a choreographed dance as well. Sis Curlyn played a number on her violin(she's been taking classes). She did excellently.
Preparing snacks before talent night activities started:
Saving the best for last we did a skit acting out verses from Proverbs 31:10-31 depicting the Virtuous Woman. The next post will have scenes of the skit.
