My hubby was home with us on Wednesday. He made a quick foray into the world out there(smile) to take his parents to their garden. On his way he came back home and brought these:
I love eating fish but cleaning them is another story. I remember growing up when my father would bring these 5lb pails of fish home and I was the one assigned to clean the fish sometimes. My fingers would be pricked and have lines where the fins cut them. My favorite fish to clean are those pictured above which have very little scales and the fins don't have sharp points that can prick me. When he came home he went picking guavas on the tree outside our master bedroom balcony.
That's me catching them as he threw them across. My son Judah was trying to take a picture of the catch.
The bounty:
Praise God for fresh fruits. Hubby washed them, cut up some, put in the freezer for making juice at a later date and gave the boys to eat.
The boys decided to undertake a building project on the porch with leftover wood from the time my hubby made a bookshelf for the office not too long ago.
In the evening the last event of the Ladies Ministry anniversary activities was held at church. We showed the DVD by Pastor John Hagee - What Every Man Wants and What Every Woman Wants and the had quite a juicy discussion afterward. Sis Dalrymple and I facilitated the discussion. Unfortunately my hubby forgot to take pictures so all I have is a picture of the board and easel I used to write the list of wants.
After almost everyone left a group of us stayed behind and discussed a whole range of topics from science to dinosaurs, to stars, to planets, to how big God is, false religions, nagging, a whole ton of stuff. The group was mostly youth. The youth pastor, his sister, his mom, my hubby and I and a few other young men. It was fun getting to spend time talking and laughing with them. Our boys were spending the night with their aunty Donna in Salisbury so we were able to stay on without them becoming antsy. I love when God plans these unexpected times of fellowship.

Ahhhh! I love quavas! One of the local stores sells frozen quava pulp and I love to make strawberry-guava freezer jam.
